Everything I published in February 2023

recap.jatan.space

It was an important month for the progress of my independent space writings. :)

Space launches

I started the world’s only newsletter dedicated to covering all of (civil) Indian space, and found an enabling sponsor for it!

  • Indian Space Progress #1: Looking back at 2022 and forward to 2023

Now that I have two newsletters sustained primarily via sponsorships, Moon Monday and Indian Space Progress, I formally codified my ethics policy to be maximally transparent to my readers:

  • Editorial Independence Policy, sponsorship standards, and other disclaimers for Jatan’s Space

Having aided several space organizations, I also started formally offering consulting to (civil) space entities wanting to leverage my experience:

  • Consult with Jatan’s Space

Moon exploration updates

  • Moon Monday #116: Two dates with our Moon, replacing the venerable LRO, and more

  • Moon Monday #115: Chandrayaan 3 lander testing, building for upcoming Moon missions, and more

  • Moon Monday #114: Mission updates, ESA-catalyzed lunar landings, Artemis planning, and more

  • Moon Monday #113: A volcanic dome for NASA CLPS, a crusty site for Chandrayaan 3, Pangaea for astronauts, and more

Updated

I updated these resource pages with the latest information and developments:

  • NASA CLPS Moon landing missions

  • India’s Chandrayaan 3 Moon landing mission

Notable microposts

  • Reading:

    • I’ve repurposed my Kindle to absorb more longform articles instead of books.

    • What is your Web reading stack?

    • The browser tab is such an alluring distraction for the infovore. →

  • Random:

    • My niece, in a world of her own. ☺️

    • It bugs me that even global media publications based in the U.S. refer to the country’s legislative body as “The Congress”.

    • I’m now inactive on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook until, ideally, forever.

Lastly, a reminder that all of my writings to promote global space exploration are absolutely free to access by everyone, and that I display zero ads. You can support my independent space writings for $7/month or flexibly on a yearly basis. This includes support for the Moon Monday newsletter, the Indian Space Progress reports as well as my feature articles! Kindly consider joining my 50+ supporters by visiting jatan.space/support to see all donation options. 🌙
